1992 civic tranny problems
I have a 92 civic with the D15. The tranny is making noise. It use to only do it in first gear, but now it is up through 3rd gear. THe noise is very similar to sound when you are in reverse. It is very noticable inside the car, and it is noisy when it is in neutral and you let the clutch out.
It shifts to/from gears jsut fine and only has about 100k on it.
Any ideas? should I hust replace the damn thing? Anyone have a replacement for sale in the SoCal area?
thanks.

--->could very well be the clutch pressure plate springs.
When the springs wear out or break loose from the clutch's pressure plate, they can rattle around between the clutch disk and the pressure plate, sounding like a metal can being rattled around inside your tranny. This problem also makes it hard to select some gears.

No it is not the clutch!! Min does make that freaking noise too.. and I have just had the clutch replaced.. and it still sounds like I am going backwards....
My mechanic said that it is a "High-gear" bearing" (Dont know the word in english!!) in the tranny...

the bearings on the main input shaft have gone bad on your transmission, it definitely is not your clutch, it is definitely an internal problem with your tranny. Start looking for a new tranny. Sorry, and good luck.
