1992-1995 eg hatch - GSR block questions
just trying to get some more info on a gsr block i have. found out it is an obd2 from 2001 gsr 4 door. I have an obd1 head mated to it with arp's. stock block and mild built head. realized that obd1 gsr blocks come with an oem oil cooler between the oil filter and block. my block has no oil cooler, but seems like the owner before fitted one on. it has the threaded plug above it to the right removed.
since these obd2 blocks don't come with an oil cooler, would it be a good choice to run one? and get the fitting to fill in the open hole for the coolant hose, or just plug it up?
as well as wiring. i am getting the chase bays harness and need to know if the knock sensor, oil pressure sensor and other block sensors will work for the harness i get since head is obd1. got a 93 hatch obd1 with stock d15 non vtec.
thanks

If you are running an OBD1 car and ecu, then all you will need are the sensors that are needed for OBD1. As long as the harness is supposed to work for OBD1 you will be fine. You may need the OBD1 alternator if you have an OBD2 and the harness is setup for an OBD1 alternator. Also you will have to make sure that you have the right OBD1 distributor.

Re: 1992-1995 eg hatch - GSR block questions
It seems like people have the time to correct other people. when yet they are just wasting time posting and not giving any info, and taking up space on my thread post.
Im probably not going to go boost for the gsr because i am just trying to get it in, but i am building an LS for turbo.
is it possible to run that oil cooler? or easier to run after market oil cooler?
