I have noticed a tear on the driver window run channel and would like to replace it as it was quite a long tear down the channel. I have searched some forums but not many people use the specific term "run channel".

I have thought about the pull a part yard route but alot of the civics I see have these torn already since they are 20+ years old.

Is their a company who makes this part or is it dealer specific part?

I think you can order them through Honda.
Whenever I need to replace 1 @ work, we go with dealerships.
I don't know of any aftermarket vendors, maybe keep trying @ the wreckers.
Have your tried auto parts stores?

Door run channel, searching around it looks like a dealer only part. Your next option is a junkyard or look on Craigslist for someone parting out a Civic.

after calling a few friends my buddy told me he had a parts car they just have some overspray on them for free. hopefully i can figure out a way to get the overspray off if they look in good enough condition

We use a product called "CRL Quick Release Agent" to remove almost anything(quite quickly).
Like anything alcohol base, it will dry out any type of rubber.
Make sure to wear gloves!

Follow up with another product fro Wurth called "Rubber Care".
(This might even remover the overspray too.)
