Default 1992-1995 Civic HATCH-Specific Car Cover...

Yes it might seem like a funny topic, but I'm looking for a really nice car cover for the 1992-1995 hatch. It must have a nice, soft inner lining and I'd prefer it to be water proof too for my fiancee's hatch that sits outside.

Right now the cover will serve on my car because our cats like to hop on the car, and thus far all I've been using are shitty blankets that leave residue on the car because they hold fabric softener. After my fiancee' and I move to our new house (with no cats) the cover will be used on her car after we get it repainted and it sits outside.

Names of companies, links to sites, pricing, etc. - anything would be great.

Anyone?

I don't have one, but I looked at that link Spade shot up and it looked good. Only looks like you can get it in Taupe though.

Here's an idea...have the wifey sew one up.

Okay so the one I'm looking at is $142.00 give or take.

I'd love to know just how soft the inner liner is on these things.

I'm THE most **** picky **** when it comes to my hatch and what is allowed to touch the finish. I wash the car with new wash mits every month or so, and I never lay it on the ground and I have a seperate bucket for wheels and a seperate mit for wheel too. I literally have 10 wash mits because I try not to use the same ones on the body too long. Old ones are fine for the other cars.

I never dry the car with towels - only absorbers. Absorbers are super soft, so a cover with a really soft inner liner will be what I'm looking for.

It's really hard to judge the liners by pics too. This is why it'd be awesome for anyone here with a great cover to chime in.

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? (If you have to ask, then you're under 20 years of age )

I don't care about the color.

I've heard that CoverCraft makes excellent covers. Check them out at http://www.covercraft.com/ PM me a product code and I'll quote you a good price. They have tons of fabric types and colors.

Yeah I alreay found their site, and it sounds good so far.

From their site:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Our covers are simply the best:
Guaranteed to never scratch or we will refund or exchange your merchandise.
We can custom make covers for any application.
Elastic tensioners are sewn-in front and rear to facilitate a snug fit.
Fabrics are precision-cut on computer-controlled equipment for optimum fit.
We provide provisions for cable locks for added security.
Extra wide 60" material used to reduce the number of seams required.
Seams are overlapped and double-stitched for optimum seal and durability.
Materials are tightly woven to prevent shrinkage from wet/dry cycles.
Permeable fabrics treated with 3M Scotchgard for water repellency.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

And the specific model I'm looking into is this:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Stormweave's dense construction cushions against parking lot dings and is resistant to tears and punctures. Stormweave is highly water resistant and is available in grey, blue or tan. Stormweave can help protect your vehicle's interior and finish from both sun and rain. The four-layer fabric is rain resistant but breathable, great for all-weather, outside use. Snow, rain, dew, industrial pollutants, tree sap and bird droppings are kept away from your vehicle's finish. The unique four-layer fabric construction includes two center layers made of short, dense fibers that act as a moisture barrier to repel water, yet allow the passage of air.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

Now honestly the best ones for MY car would be one of the indoor-only ones, because they specifically say "soft inner liner to protect finishes" etc. Only problem is that this cover will only be on my car until August (indoors only) but then it'd be a waste once we get to the new home because the new garage is pet-free. I'd be awesome to have a great outdoor cover for the other hatchback which will be outside and in need of protection once it's repainted. One car garage - sucks I know.

covercraft is a nice cover but its a universal fit and its baggy when fitted over a hatch. Coverking is also a car cover company but its very thin and no soft lining inside. I worked at a shop and mostly sold covercrafts...but you want one thats "form fitting" and strictly for hatches right? like those tightass covers for vettes? Not sure who to recommend for those

Hey Tom,

IN my own experience, water proof is not what you want. Better performance would be one that 'breathes' so that moisture does not get trapped against the paint. It permits you to leave the cover over the car long term without having to worry about damaging the paint.

This is the one that comes to mindhttp://216.60.144.111/ecatcust...key=C

or this one: http://www.webcovers.com/carcovers/Evolution/

or search for: Evolution 4 / technalon car covers.

Kimberly Clarke makes the fabric, everyone markets the covers.

Yes thanks for the info.

The waterprrof one I was looking at claims to be a breathable too.

I think what will end up happening is that I'll get the all-weather one for now, and then buy another indoor-only one for my car once we move since the indoor ones are thin and still might not protect too well against cats. I use thick-*** comforter covers right now, but like I said they leave residue **** that I have to wipe off constantly.
