1990 civic si a/c needs to be recharged.
Hi,
My 1990 civic si's a/c seems to have lost its charge. Since it must use R12 ,
I was wondering what my options were? The car has 140k miles and runs well.
Im thinking that I'll need to suck it up and sweat the summers.
Any ideas? A R134 retro seems way too expensive.

a r134a retro fit is not too expensive. If you must have ac then its the only way to go as the cost to charge an r12 system is ridculous. Also, when was the last time it was charged? If it was recent you might want to put a dye in the system to see where/if there is a leak somewhere.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, r-12 is worth the extra $30-$50 to get recharged rather than converting and r-12 system to r-134a.
