Im still a noob at the honda thing. but i can honestly tell you that it depends completely on you and/or the person that owned it before you. maintence, oil changes, etc. I would definitely baby it and not push it too hard.

Depends on how the person kept it before you. If he/she took care if the motor and car itself. it should last another 100k miles. You might have to spend money here or there but it all depends on how you drive it.

If you rebuild something from head to toe the right way...then it should last you the life of a new engine. Pistons and oil seals/rings and valve springs retainers and rods and rebuilt tranny with all new parts, ect. If you do all of that then you may as well have a bran new swap in my eyes.

My 97 DX has 170 on original Y7. I replaced the trans because the input shaft bearing went bad. Now im good to go. The original owner used Mobil1 for the first 130k miles after the proper engine break in procedure. I switched it back to regular oil. Engine has no oil leaks and runs like a top.

yea, my old civic would eat up oil all the time, probably went through a quart every few months.

the the OP:
if the owner kept up with the maintanence it should be okay, but check the oil level every week like you should.
