195/55/15 or 205/50/15??
I'm thinking about replacing my tires, and I can't seem to decide which tire size is best for my civic. I have 195/50/15's on right now and there's an ugly gap between the tires and car. Everybody says ppl go with the 205/50 series if your car is significantly lowered. But what if yours not? With the 195/55 series, it wouldn't probably rub.
Being wider, does it makes the handling better on a 15x6.5 size rim?
My car is lowered on some H&R's so the rear is barely drop at all(1.5 inch). It looks almost if it was still at stock height. I know my current fenderwell space can handle a "55" series tire. If i put on the 205/50 size, would it tuck up as nice as the 195/55 size?
Does anybody have any suggestions? and Why?

get the 205/50/15's. My car is dropped 2.25f & 2.0 r & I don't rub at all - I've tried to make it rub just to make sure, and it won't do it. You'll have a bigger foot print, which should mean better traction.

I asked the same question and got 205/50/15 mostly........and overwelming number of people said to go with Falken Azanis (that might not be spelled right)

For traction purposes I would run a 205-50-15, but if you are going for handling, stick with a 195-50-15 on a 6.5" wheel. There was an awesome thread on this a while back where "Emerika" threw in some awesome info as well as a few others. I searched for it but couldn't remember what to search for.

I would go with the 195/55r/15 i ran a 205/50r/15 and didn't car for them. The reason why is they rubbed and with the 55 series the sidewall has more support and handles better in my opinion. However this was only my experience with the falken 512. handling in mostly based on the compound of tire and design of the tread. hope this helped
