Default 195/50/16 ok for 16x7 wheel?

i just picked up a set of 16" ssr gpo's and they would look much better than the steelies i have on now.

im looking for cheap tires and i came across a set of 195/50/16's for dirt cheap. is 195 just too skinny for a 7" wheel?

i know 205/45/16 would be ideal but what are ALL of the choices of tire to fit on this wheel? i know i cant go big on profile or width for rubbing but im willing to cheap it up a little if possible one way or another.

i thought that the 50 series wouldn't be so apparently thick with a 195 tire and sorta even things up so to speak.

tire guru's drop knowledge, tia

195 is ideal on 6.5", so maybe that might be kind of skinny on 7".

does anybody know if 195 is just plain dangerous on a 7" wheel? these wheels are pretty damn rare, cant be damaging that fat pretty lip...

a 195/50/16 is approved for a 7" wheel. the 7" wheel is the widest wheel in the range tho. i am running 195/50's on my 15" kosei k1's which are also a 7" wide wheel.

as far as damaging the lip of the wheel goes, that is up to the driver...

bumpage,

i picked up the 195/50/16" tires and from bead to bead i only measured six and a half inch's. on my wheel from lip to lip it is exactly 7 inch's. should i even try to take them to get mounted or should i save the embarassment? when they put them on the machine does it pull the beads out to lock in at the lip's on the wheel or?

i know 205 is ideal, but someone in a previous post said 195 was doable on a 7" wheel, this is not likely?

Why don't you call the tire shop and ask? I'm sure they'd know.

because i have access to online message board forums with multiple sources of input. part of that is important to be because i do not trust the opinion of one person at a tire shop, i see the *** clowns who work at these places. the other part of value to me is not having to pick up the phone, similar to how we enjoy the convenience of ordering merchandise online rather than via phone the shopping mall.

infact, even you had the convenience today of learning about the convenience's of the internet via...the internet. didn't have to pick the phone and ask anybody, or buy a news paper or turn on cnn or anything! how convenient! lol

ugh... go here [even tho i HATE wheel max] and look at package 1 for the 16x7 wheels. they all have 195/50/16 tires...

http://www.wheelmax.com/Wheels/5zigen/5zigen.html

i have been running 195/50's on 7" wheels for 20k miles already.

look up "tire fitment guide" on yahoo or google and you can see yourself...
