6th gens can pull off 17's because they have a larger wheel well then the other civics. But 17's are the biggest that i recomend getting.
16's are a perfect compromise between wheelsize and performance

My friend has 18's on his 98 coupe. He put tenzos I cant rember what ones. but he sits stock hieght. hw has coil overs so maybe he has a .25 dump on it. but none the less he is almost stock but he is on 18's and doesnt rub

yeah i wouldn't do it . I had 18 on my hatch 
( don't flame got a good deal on them so had to go with it ) and they fit just fine no rubing at all . But they got beat to hell from the roads around here and now i just have my del sol rims on . DON"T DO IT
