17 inch rims will they fit on 2000 civic
I just recently purchased a 2000 ex civic. It came with 205/40zr17 tires and 17 inch rims. They look like they are rubbing on the inside of the tire. They car is also lowered from the stock coils. Should I try to sell these tires? or will they work for every day driving.

Yes, 17s on these cars are disgusting and you should get rid of them.
15 would likely be ideal. 16s can also work under certain profiles.
Edit: Stock tire/wheel diameter is about 23", so use that as a reference. Use a calculator to find a wheel/tire combo that amounts to 23" to maintain speedo accuracy.

Tirerack.com also has a calculator you could use to find other combinations that can work, just gotta find the OEM size for your wheel & tire and go from there.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should...

if you find wheels with tires locally, i would test fit one on the front and one on the back before i let the transaction get far at all.
i don’t actually like how 17 inch wheels look on the mid 90’s to early 2000’s civics; but i’d say that if it doesn’t rub, it’s acceptable. at the same time, my tires (don’t remember if they’re 15’s or 16’s) rub something 100% of the time, and yes, it is silly.

I only had a little, on the rear. But that was due to the weight in the trunk, which was easily solved by rolling the lip inside the fender. Also keep in mind my rims are 17” x 7”wide so I’m not sure about clearance on anything wider but it’d be tight I’m guessing.
