Default 12v in my DX is fried?

Alrighty, I have a 1998 Civic DX four door, and the 12v adapter has never given power to anything I plug in. Is there some kind of problem with these models or is it simply not to be used as a power source and only there for decoration? It pisses me off that the plug and adapter are there, but not functional.

try checking the fuse first. I am pretty positive there is a blown fuse.

I have the same car, mine works fine always has, always will.

maybe someone removed that panel before and forgot the reconnect it You'd remove that panel to get to the radio bolts at the back.
