I'm working on finding parts for an all motor b16 build and I want a compression ratio of around 12.5:1 but all I can find is pistons that would be 12.5:1 for a b18c and would be 11:1 in a b16a. I was wondering if anyone knew of any 12.5:1 pistons for a b16a or how much I would need to deck the head for that compression ratio?

Don't try to raise compression by decking the head... That's how more Honda parts get ruined for future builders.

There are a TON of good piston manufacturers, I'm sure you can find 12.5:1 CR pistons for a B16 on RealStreet's website. It's also worth considering if you really want to build the B16 all motor, an LS B18 or B20 bottom end would be much better for that.

I totally agree with the statement of NOT cutting the head to make compression. That theory is for "in block" cam engine technology like Chevy and Ford V8's... NOT for OHC engines. It is really hard to make big compression on a short stroke engine... the dome volume has to be HUGE. With a stock block and an uncut head with a .030" head gasket, you would need a 14.5cc dome on your piston with a standard 1.181" compression height, which is nearly 70% larger than a CTR piston.

Why do you want a compression ratio of 12.5:1 specifically ?
