1100 idle surging to 2500....on good days
i swapped in a SOHC ZC 3 weeks ago and just recently(after getting to daytona beach for school) my car idles at 1100rpm and surges to 2500 on a cold start...once it warms up it will drop to 1100 most of the time.....any suggestions...its really annoying leaving campus having everyone stare a me drive away...lol
ive heard so many things it could be....vaccum leak, bad tps...ect....anyone have a straight forward answer....or if anyone is in the daytona area i just moved here from VA and im still tryin to make my way around.

i think its the cold start hole on the intake manifold.... feel around on the back of the intake manifold right around the TB but on the back side... cover the little hole with your finger, if it stop surgin thats the problem you jus need a new TB, unless u have loose vacums

try adjusting your throttle cable. While the engine is running, loosen the 12 mm nut and your idle should drop to around 400... adjust it to around 7-900...

im guessin its not the cable cuz you could manually push the body close and it would still idle like ****

I had the same thing happening when I put a H22 throttle body on my y8 mani. I just put the original back on and I'm still trying to figure out the problem with the H22.

yeah you might jus need a new TB take your's off and rattle it if you hear like something rattlin around inside its shot... TB's arent alot of money i always see them for sale around me and at junkyards for like 50 bucks, i had the same prob wit my LS motor in my civic and it was the problem

i looked for a hole and couldnt find one....but i was removing vacuum lines to check for any pressure and one had no suction...
its the hose right above the TB angled out.
i also tried to mess with the idle screw but got nothin.....any suggestions?

IAC (idle air control motor), or maybe PCV Valve (L shaped on intake manifold...replace if its no longer clicking)...as well as everyone said in the above.

my old garbage accord use to do that **** man. ****** annoying i hear that, the problem on the accord was a bad map sensor unit, i dont know how to check but i took it to my mechanic and he said get one from junkyard cost 10 bucks he installed it and that fixed the idle prob. Not sure tho man, civics r different so get it checked out and good luck.

Yeah my bro's '99 Si was just doing the same thing this week except the idle was suging so crazy that it sounded and acted just like he was bouncing the needle off the limiter. Had the IACV replaced at the honda place and it's all good. It costs $300 bucks though...
