Just make them fit. Grind down the caliper a bit.

Really? So my friend who has a 92 Si Hatchback with 4 wheel disks does not have HX wheels?
Here's another shot of what they look like:

Re: 11 pound 14" enkei and 95% azenis (96coupe)
I'm on the "won't grind anything on my car that needs to disipate heat" click.
I know they will fit, but they have to be modified, like was already said.
The point of this post is, some 14 inch enkei's, and we don't even know if they are HX wheels, i personally didn't know enkei made those for honda, so if they don't, this whole arguement is completely moot.

Good try, but 92 Si's do not have the 10" brakes. They have the little brakes like every other non-EX Civic.
HXs will clear EX-sized brakes if you grind on the caliper and/or use spacers.

As stated, HX wheels don't fit over EX brakes without modification. Your friends 92si does not have EX brakes. The 92-95SI used the small front disc brakes like those found on the DX. Those gunmetal HX wheels look good though.

Re: 11 pound 14" enkei and 95% azenis (kommon_sense)
Interesting. Didn't know that...learn something new everyday I guess
What is the difference between the EX brakes and the EX brakes with ABS? Because on my EK I know it has rear drums, and I thought they were the same size as DX...

Re: 11 pound 14" enkei and 95% azenis (BauleyCivic)
I believe that the rear drums are the same size on all civs. However the EX has larger front rotors than the DX. The 92-95EX w/ABS had rear disc brakes.
Just for clarification, the HX wheels will fit over the rear drums just fine. The problem is that they won't fit over the larger rotors found on the front of the EX (without modifications). I do not know if they will fit over the rear rotors of the EXw/abs or the SI, but I don't see why they wouldn't.

AAAGGGHHHH......I'm going NUTS reading this stuff!!!!
Where do people get their information from!!!!!>??????
Ok....92-93 Civic Si's had the same front brakes as any other Civic in that year PLUS rear disc.
94-95 Civic Si's had an OPTION for ABS. I have a 94 Si without ABS and I share the same 9.2 inch front brakes that a DX or CX has.
The 94-95 Civic Si's and the Civic EX's with ABS do share the same front brakes, which share the same rotors as an Integra.
The ONLY reason the HX's don't clear without modification is the offset of the wheel. it has NOTHING to do with the size of the brakes.
a 3-5mm wheel spacer is the safest way to run the wheels. I hate grinding down calipers....but maybe thats just me

Yeah, they don't fit GS-R brakes. EX's are fine.

yeah they will, Pat!
We just put 14 inch steelies on project c-speed this past week, putting it back to stock.
HX wheels just need less offset to clear...hence the spacers

why is it that you don't like grinding down the caliper? I have a set of HX's on my sedan right now and I also have a complete front suspension setup from a SIR2 and I plan on swapping the brakes from that onto my civic next summer and was planning on just grinding the caliper down a bit to clear

There isn't that much modification that has to be done you take a grinder to your caliper for 2 sec on each side and then wolla they work. Justa little clearencing work.

because when you put your car to stock, or go to sell the calipers to some deusche in the local paper....they look brand new...not like someone went a little crazy with the grinder
All about keeping things original if possible

damn, all this brake size stuff confuses me.. i have a 1993 EX 2Dr without ABS and when i measured the diameter of my rotor, i think it was like 10" or sumthing.

Re: 11 pound 14" enkei and 95% azenis (93 EJ1)
i think abs on the si hatch is only availble as an option in 1994 with 10.3" brakes in the front the other years had the regular 9.2" ones
