Yes you just need to swap out the mounts and transmission and intake manifold that corresponds with the car you are putting it in. other then that its just a bolt on affair. have fun

Re: 1.7 vtec into an eg or ek civic
I agree! I got one for free after doing an engine swap for someone and I decided to throw my turbo kit on it and I boosted it, It last about 5,000 miles on a street tune. I bent 2 rod and cracked a sleeve. and it was the same kit I ran on a stock bottom end d16z6 also with a street tune and the lasted me about 20,000 of hard driving. The blocks are weak(FRM sleeves) and the internals are crap.

Those engine choices are way different from one another.
The K-series swaps, though some come with decent horsepower and I hear they react okay to power mods, are very expensive to swap into a '92-'00 Civic chassis. I've always heard it might be best to ignore the 160 hp Si and base RSX K20s because of the lower horsepower (and possibly other reasons?).
The D17 (which is very different than the earlier D15s and D16s) likely is also an expensive swap, but with comparable performance to the earlier D16s and lowered reliability and parts availability it seems.

Not sure where you are located, but at least in the US the 2002 Si has a 2.0L (K-series) and the lower trims have a 1.7L (D-series).

A little bit of stuff I remember other people telling me is nothing. That's all just vague references I just posted! LOL
Still might be some points that others who know better can expend on or might give some key notes for the OP to look into. Maybe make sure it's truely a D17 he's looking at.
Oh, Honda also had a B17 years ago in the '92-'93 Integra GSR. It's based on the B16 and can swap into '92-'00 Civics fairly easily.

The reason I was wondering is because I wrote off my em2 the other night and I was going to put all my runnin gear into an older mint shell but I'm just going to rebuild the car, thanks for all your responses anyway would have been very helpful if I was to go through with the swap.I may be asking for more advice on a k swap sometime soon

I agree with everyone else, I've never heard of someone swapping a D17 into a 92-00 and I think there are good reasons for that.
