1.6 head onto 1.5?

i have a head off of a 99 civic si (cdn), d16y8 1.6 sohc vtec. will this fit onto a 1.5 out of a 94 civic? and how hard is it to wire in the vtec using the same ecu.

I dont know much about Canadian models but D-series can only go with D-series, and B-series can only go with B-series.

both are d series, so im guessing they would fit. i just took my d series out and put in a b16a2. need to get rid of whats left https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

for the wiring you will need to get an ECU from a 92-95 1.6L sohc vtec (P28). not sure what you guys call them up there but that is from an 92-95 Si hatch or Ex down here. then there are 2 additional wires that need to be ran, one for vtec solenoid and one for oil pressure sensor. and also the oil pressure sensor will need a ground wire but that can go to the chassis anywhere , not all the way to the ecu. This head swap is called Mini-Me or Mini me. search either of those for alot of details. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

ps. this swap will raise your compression anywhere from 10.5:1 to 11:1 depending on what headgasket you use. So if you're planning on boosting you might want to re-plan.

i dunno about canada but here in the states a 99 si has a B16a2 not a d16y8, theres no 1.5L that a b series head will fit on
