Hey guys! I tried searching but could not find anything. But when swapping a 1.6 EL front on a civic would I have to switch the front bumper support/Re-bar? Or can I use the stock civic support/re-bar???

you can reuse it but you will have to fab the bumper support tabs.

I thought this was a straight bolt on?? I did not know you have to bend, weld, and cut in order to properly fit the fenders and bumper.

if you source all parts from a domani then it is. If you want to reuse your civic bumper rail then its not anymore.
the bumper on a domani is supported differently than the civic bumper. the civic bumper and the center grille between the headlights are connected together with screws. so the vertical weight of the bumper is supported by the center grill being connected to the radiator support.
on the domani they are completely seperate parts and dont connect together. the center grill econnect to the headlights and the radiator support. the bumper connects to the bumper rail, the fenders, and under the car. for the bumper to be correctly supported you need to have the 3 tabs to support the bumper.
I had to cut the ends of my bumper because they hit the inside of the bumper and made it so i couldnt bolt to the fenders without putting stress on the bumper ends so i cut them down.

If youre trying to source parts you can check www.venus-auto.com. from there you can even get the domani bumper rail so you dont have to do anything but bolt it on.

That was a very good write up by the way! I want this plug n play as much as possible. So in terms of the bumper support, which EL parts would I need so I don't have to fab anything?? I already know that I have to cut the 2 tabs for the stock civic headlights to fit the domani headlights thats not a prob.

actually you dont even need any tools to get those tabs off. just grab ahold of them and you can bend them back and forth a few times and the spot wellds will fatigue and they will come right off.
ok for a parts list you will want the hood, fenders, bumper, center grille, and bumper rail/support/beam whatever you want to call it. you will probably get the turn signals with the bumper but you should double check. radiator support is not needed.

You will need to do some wiring to get the turn signals to work. the headlights are just headlights and parking lights on a domani. the turn signals are in the bumper just like on integras.

Awesome!!! Doesn't sound like a hard job at all. I think the only difficult thing would be fitting all the parts properly together to give it that factory look... one of my weaknesses haha. But we'll see how it goes.

Hey bud one more question. Being that those 2 tabs have to come off, if I was planning on puttinng the ek front end back on would I have to buy another rad support? Or do I just weld or bolt those tabs back on??

those 2 tabs arent even really necessary for the ek front end. I guess they are just there for extra support on the bumper itself. you can still put the ek front end back on without those tabs with no problem.

Looking very nice!!! All you need is a lip to set it off completely. I didn't know you need a bracket to support the headlights???

I didnt. Yeah I think this front end looks best with a mugen(style) lip. Ill be getting mine as soon as winter shrivels up and dies.

Would you buy a mugen style lip for an EK or is it specifically made for a domani? I have an OEM Si lip that I would like to put on but not sure if it will fit. I think it will fit, I would just have to play around with it, which I wanna try to avoid. Or I just might get a mugen style lip.

I don't like the fake CTR lips they flare out too much. But I think the mugen style lip would look the best on it. Has a more aggressive look!!

you get one for a 96 through 98 ek. from what i understand a 99 or 00 will work also but isnt a seamless fit because the portion of the lip that slides into the opening is narrower.

Yeah I noticed that with the 99-00 si lips and wondered how that would work. Guess you just have to play around with it.

Nothing. It's a typo in this case. The sprayer is for the windscreen. However, there are headlight washers for Civics in certain markets. JDM and EDM. Why would you do that, when you can come up here to Canada and buy an EL for 2-3k CAD!? The dollar is in your favor at this time. Kind of a no brainer, that is, unless you like hacking up a perfectly good car just for the sake of doing so.
