Re: (untitledsn41)
ahh that's your map and TPS sensor not IAC. you should have both of those on your dx harness and they are both the same (should of marked them). If you are missing one you obviously ripped it off.

Re: (ABK)
damnit, there is no more plugs and its not ripped off...hmm i'll go check again

Re: 1.5 dx harness on gsr. help (untitledsn41)
IAB (butterflies)... big black box under the intake manifold .. you can eliminate it and have the butterflies activate through vaccuum by directly hooking up the little valve up to the manifold
|
well i'm missing a couple plugs now...they have to be there. i looked some stuff up in the haynes manual and plugged in the right ones. i am missing TPS and one on the backside of the intake manifold...
what does the IAB do? and why would i disconnect it. please explain |

I can promise you that if you have an uncut harness, there IS a TPS connector. I believe the MAP has 2 wires and TPS has 3, if that helps you tell them apart. The connector on the back of the intake manifold is most likely your iacv. The b7 motor should have had one of those too. The IAB's are the butterflies that control the secondary runners in the gsr intake manifold. If you dont use them, they will always be open. |
i have 3 wires that fit in 4 places. do i just leave the IAB disconnected?
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...edsn41/aaa.jpg and back to this. i am missing the tps or the map. what can i do about that. are you 100% sure the 1.5 has both of those cuz when i looked at my old motor i only found a place for one of them... please reply https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...mapsensors.jpg |

is that a bad thing? c'mon this is my first swap so cut me some slack y0 |
Re: 1.5 dx harness on gsr. help (untitledsn41)
ok i'm going to assume that you swapped in the gsr into the dx, if that's the case then the map sensor plug is going to be coming out of the firewall...umm hope this helps.. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

lol, k i found the map sensor on the firewall...it was hiding. and the gsr is sitting on the pallet still. but now can someone explain the 3 plugs that all look the same...there is 4 holes for them.

Re: 1.5 dx harness on gsr. help (untitledsn41)
as stated the one coming out of the firewall is the map sensor..so put that on to the side. now the other ones are going to go to the iacv and the tps...you cant mix those up...as for the butterflies i would wire them up properly but for now just try to get the car started, that way you can at least eliminate the wiring problems that you have... https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

oh and you're going to have the purge valve plug also around there... just plug that in

Re: (untitledsn41)
i would use the GSR harness. also, if youre adding plugs be certain to solder them. the top plug is the TPS. if you mix up the two sensors that look alike, the symptom would be the car idling funny (revving up/down at idle) and shutting down (powerloss) under WOT.

its a jdm gsr harness so unless i hacked it all up nothing is long enough.

Re: (untitledsn41)
yes, US spec would be what you need, since the one youre using is for a RHD car.

i am just using my 1.5 harness...and i am aware that the gsr harness is from a RHD. i cant afford a US spec gsr harness so i am just going to make this one work

Re: (untitledsn41)
i understand, but you must solder the connections of extension points. you will get CEL's from the KS or other sensors if you just tape them up. save yourself the headache.
