Default 1/4 panel molding/stripping peeling off

Do you guys leave your 1/4 panel molding on, im talking about for the wheel wells? I know once they start peeling they trap moisture in and can cause corrosion....should i peel them off completely or try and re-glue them? I just got a civic i dont want the panels to rust thanks

Personally, I would say remove them. My passenger side rear quarter is rusted because of those things. When I got the car, only that side was loose (hanging a little in the middle), and it was the only spot of rust on the entire car.
