1/4 mile time for CX?
On july 11th in gonna go with some friends to Sears Point for a day of drag racing. Im going to take my cx. Ive fully stripped the interior except for the 2 front seats, dash, front door panels, headliner and stereo. as far as engine mods, ive got a short ram intake w/ a heatshield and cold air piping to the front of the car. Everything else is stock. Im a decent driver, so what do u think my times will be?

nope, i wish i had the 1.6 sohc, but ive got the 1.5l 4cyl 8 valve 70bhp and 91 ft lbs torque. Its pretty damn loud with the intake tho. Im think very high 17's or low 18's.

Re: 1/4 mile time for CX? (Loco Honkey)
70HP...... ouch. Thank god I live in Canada. 8 Valve.... HAHAHA I scoff at the 8 Valve.
Canadian CX = 1.5L 16 Valve SOHC, 102HP and 9? Torque..... yeah, so it still sucks... just not as much...
*Please note this is NOT a Canada is better thing, I am not picking a fight or starting a debate, I was simply showing that the canadian and american CX's are slightly different*.. end disclaimer.
Now let's both go get beat by everything else on the road, except for maybe firefly's and the odd swift.....

Re: 1/4 mile time for CX? (Loco Honkey)
ok guys.. let me set somthing straight.. I KNOW MY CAR IS SLOW AS ****..
i know i have 70bhp, i know im not going to breaking any reconds, except for slowest time of the day. But i asked what TIMES do u think my car can run. For a 70bhp the car its not bad at all, it pulls pretty good in 1st and second. I raced a 92 dx hatch and beat it and i raced my friends Accord LX and beat that 2.

Never Underestimate the raw power of the cx my friend..... LOL
Seriously though, I know what you mean, I've never driven the 70HP version, but mine pulls pretty hard in 1st and second as well. Just have to know how to drive them I guess.
And I honestly don't know what you should run at the track, I've never been and haven't seen cx numbers.

Maybe you should borrow your moms minivan and take that to the track. It would probably run faster.
And you raced your friend at beat him? Are you sure he wasnt driving normal? I mean with the huge acceleration your pulling, he might have been just going half throttle.
Sorry had to vent on slow cars for the day. Expect a 18 second quarter mile at around 70 mph. Hopefully you will be able to decellerate in time from the tremendous speeds. Nah im just kidding. If you cant tell, i'm really sarcastic. My writing comes out differently then i am thinking it.
Just when you go, make sure you know all the rules, and know how to stage. DO NOT burn out past the starting line. Them Domestic track owners hate that more than anything. Especially if your not running 11's or faster. Just creep up to the line slowly, stage, and then have a good run. Then get some mods for your car damnit!!!
