Re: 1/4 mile time =| whatever dude (Emerika)
i think my main problem is that i am tryng to stage with these shitty tires
at about 2k i spin them till about 8k
at 3k spin and i have to feather it
anything higher is insane
maybe i should just start from idle and then drop the clutch and floor it =p

Damn man. Lower your 60 foots! You should be about 2.1's and get some friggin radials.
Was this your first run with the C5?

Re: 1/4 mile time =| whatever dude (poison)
yes 1st runs
to lower the 60 foot times is basically up to the traction right?
what radials do you suggest? i really dont have a clue when it comes to tires....i am due for some new tires for daily driving anyway....
i want to pick up some 14" steelies and put a decent pair of drag radials on them. what size and what brand? i dont know this stuff
thanks

yeah. you're spinng out way too much. 1st runs always suck. you'll get used to the motor.
just FYI as well, you always want to shift of wear the peak RPM is of the head. there is no point of redlining the hell out of the motor when there is no more power up there.

It looks to me like you would be hitting high 13's were it not for the kinda lack-luster launches
I say try it again as soon as you get some decent rubber on there & see what happens.

Like everyone said before, reaction time doesnt matter unless you're bracket racing.
Get some good rubber so you can lower your 60' and you should see way better times.

And before you go spending money on new tires, try some new launching techniques.
I launch at about 3500, green light, pedal to the almost to the floor, pump the clutch one time real quick to hook back up, pedal to the floor, shift at 8k.
If you have a stock R motor, there really isn't a reason to shift past 8400. Just an FYI.
Good times though for a first timer. Keep practicing.
