Never heard of a 1.4 stateside. What year and body? You will probably be a lot better off with as swap anyway. 1.4 is tiny and you know what they say - "No replacement for displacement."

Is insurance in Ireland based on engine displacement? If so, that sucks. Is that insurance figure quarterly, bi-yearly or yearly?

Maybe a turbo kit for a d15 or d16 might work with a little fitiment. I am not d-series savvy, so couldn't tell you.

First off, the D14 has some really good engine geometry. It's small, but so what.

A good thread about possibilties for N/A upgrades. As far as turbo goes, the D16 kits should work with minimal modification (as already stated).
