Default 04 civic, instrument panel wont light up

I put a cd player in my car yesterday and the instrument panel lighting went out. All my fuses are good, there actually isnt a fuse for it but i checked every fuse in the car. All the gauges still work fine, as well as the cd player. The dome light also works. What could it be? Any info would be great.
Thanks
Mike

mike, turn your lights on and see if the brake lights are working. If they are not the fuse that works the brake lights is also for the dash lights. (they link the two of them together so you can tell if you have brake lights or not.) Other than that it is something more serios. make sure the dimmer for the dash lights did not get turned down by accident and also make sure you put any ground wires back if you took them off. Good Luck

When you installed your new deck was there any wires available to connect to the illumination/dimmer? If so did you hook these up? If you did you might have done the same thing I did, fry the circuits for the gauge lights. You can check this by taking out the instrument cluster and disassemble all the way down until you get to just the gauges themselves. Now if you take this apart you will see all the circuits on the back of the cluster and if you fried anything it'll be VERY apparent.
(On mine the whole circuit was fried and it was only a specific circuit)

I don't have a 04 Civic and never had a warranty. It can't hurt to take it up there and see.I doubt they say something about a aftermarket radio being installed voiding a warranty. But there have been crazier stories.
I say take it up there or take it too a Mobile One or something and ask them. They deal with those wires all day long. Its probably something simple.Again Good Luck.
