Default 00SiR(em1) timing belt and pump

Hey guys, im new to this forum.

i just got a question i want to ask.

recently i bought an used 00 SiR with 100k on the engine.
im wondering is it time to change the timing belt and the waterpump, since most car at 100k would require a major maintenance.
I called honda and they said that you dont need to change the belt and the pump on the em1 til 150k on the engine.

i jsut want to know if i should be safe and change it now or wait til the full km.

thanks alot guys

Best thing to check for, is to pop the valve cover on the head, and check the tension and stretching of the timing belt. If you can move it excessively with just your hands, there are cogs missing from the belt, fraying on the belt, then it needs to be replaced.

If your car has 100k miles you need to change the belt. Belts can look fine and snap, a visual inspection is not the best way to tell. Age and mile suggested replacement intervals is the best way.

If its out of the car you might as well. It'll be much easy than later down the road.

Didn't notice your from Canada. You could wait till 150km but by age your about ready for one.
