Re: (JDMlyfestyle)
well the car runs great....the tach just does not work....I think the engine harness is from a B16A and the harness from the ecu is from the 00 si... and then its got a obd1 conversion harness ...so Im thinking that the dizzy might have been from an obd1 b16A and the one he got to replace it is from a 00si.....holy crap thats alot of mismatching....
BTW is the 00si dizzy 1 plug and is the b16A 2 plug?

Re: (dorkoftheyear)
you cannot plug in a OBDI dizzy into a OBDII plug. or vise versa
Most likely his tach wire came loose or that part of the ICM has gone bad.
if its a brand new dizzy from a parts store.. take it back because its not working 100% so its defective and they got to replace it

Re: (JDMlyfestyle)
okay its a obd2 2000 Si harness,2000 si dizzy......I just found that out by searching
amazing....
is there any wires that have to be moved on the dizzy plugs when using the obd1 conversion harness with a jdm b16a ecu....?
Maybe the bastard is bad....

Re: (dorkoftheyear)
on a 2000 si your tach signal comes from the ecu, not the dizzy like on 98 and older cars. If you use a conversion harness the signal comes from pin a21 when you use an 0bd1 ecu.

sorry but the signal gets sent to the ECU from the ICM the same way it did in all 88-00 Fuel Injected Honda's B D H F series motors

you are wrong sir, look at a 99-00 si ex and hf (i have worked on them all) the dizzy has a blue wire coming out of it, but there is no wire in the harness for it to hook to.
and on 92-95 civics the blue tach wire doesnt even hook to the ecu.
dont post if you dont know.
