Default 00 si stock exhaust vs 00 ex stock exhaust

There is a guy that is interested in my 00 ex stock exhaust because he is trying to return his Si back to stock so he can sell it....Is there really any difference between the si and ex stock exhaust??? should he buy this?

thats kinda what I figured....and I figure if he sells his Si with ex exhaust to a younger person, they are gonna put new exhaust on anyways..if he sells it to an older person, then they wont even notice/care

Actually, I believe the SI exhaust is slightly bigger sitting at 2" whereas the Civic Ex exhaust is 1.75" if my memory serves me correctly.

If your talking the WHOLE exhaust, like headers too, you do know that the Si has a B series, and the EX has a D series, right? meaning...headers are NOT swappable. Someone correct me if I'm terribly wrong, but the B16A and D16Y8 can't take the same header.

Im pretty sure he means just the piping from the cat to the muffler and yes, youre right, sohc and dohc exhaust manifolds are not interchangeable.

i had a booth full exhaust systems.. i bought a si exhaust for a ex thinking it would be better. its the same size.. the mufflers are the same too . SI has the little chrome tip on the on the muffler thats like the only diffrence. I might be wrong also. But im pretty sure they are same if not its not going to make a drastic diffrence not enough to notice.

i heard a few people say ex is 1.75 and si is 2" not positive. I was going to get si exhaust to keep my car quiet and save some cash.

the tip isn't larger, there is just a metal piece around the tip to make it appear larger.

No trim listed on back of car = thin exhaust steel tip.

EX = small chrome tip

Si = sporty larger crome tip to create the illusion of a larger muffler tip.
