Well i just pulled an Si home for my project with only 53k miles on it! I thought it was in great condition until 2day when i started to do some basic check up and tune up on it; i pulled out the sparkplugs... 3 of them were SOAKED WITH MOTOR oil! What can i do to fix this? Has this already damaged my engine performance? Should i might as well rebuild it now? From what i can conclude, motor oil has already entered into the cylinders, can this be cleaned up? Thanks!

Hopefullt it's just that the seal around the spark plug tubes is bad and thats where the oil is leaking.

I don't see how just getting oil in the cylinders would prompt you to rebuild?

make sure u check the blinker fluid,cause if they run out of fluid u might have to replace them

Most likely just the spark plug tube seals, as stated before. Get a valve cover gasket set at advance auto parts for like $33.

Just run the motor. It'll burn off in no time. No worries.

I mean honestly, why not try some trouble-shooting and testing first? Compression check and leakdown tests are in order. It's probably what the other guys said though. the seal between the valve cover and spark plug holes is probably leaking.

THANKS for all our replys! what exactly is the blinker fluids? O and as i was checking the car to see if anything else is wrong with it i realized that there is BIG hole on my shock tower!!! Then i examined the hole... its not a hole its a RIP of metal!
I gotta take pix to show u guys... but right now... my left front shock is messed up...and i dont know if that "rip" is bad/hard to fix.

I'm going to go ahead and vote spark plug tube seals. Then again I guess it depends on which end of the plug has oil on it.

I sparkplug was soaked on the head... the part where it makes the spark! If it was just the tail where the wires plug into it... i wouldn't have worried. Man how can a 53k miles car be like that... I have another civic single cam and the motor and everything is super clean. Dont know what that owner did...

I guess im gonna change the gasket and the seals of the sparkplug holes see if it will solve this problem. Anymore suggestions/inputs/comments/tips please feel free to add. I'll update often

sounds like the last owner just didnt care too much for the car. If its your project, then i really hope you follow through with it cause i hate seeing Si's this way..

Ouch! Did you do a carfax on this car? Seeing this makes me wonder what else could be wrong with it, that **** is bad!

Yeah looks like major accident damage. I think oil on the spark plugs is the least of your worries now. Car's dangerous to drive. I'd park it.

You need to have it towed to a body shop and see if that's fixable. If not, it's time for a new car. Where did you get the car?

Edit: It looks repairable from what I can see. Take the suspension off, use a sledge hammer on the sheet metal to get it back into place and re-weld the sheet metal. You may never get a decent alignment though. Looks like it hit the mothor of all pot holes, the suspension slammed up into the tower and ripped the lower part of the tower loose.

Seiously, pull that suspension apart and start looking for other signs of damage. I'm sure it can be fixed, but to be honest, if your not sure what would be causing the oil problem and are actually asking what "blinker fluid" is, you might want to have somebody else take a look at it. Good luck.

Thanks for ALL the replies! I got this car from a junkyard owned by my girlfriend's dad. I got it for 3500, everyone there said it is fixable and easy job for a bodyshop. And like MasterKwan said i think the stupid owner prolly hit a pot hole or something and the suspension slammed into the tower wall... anyways i'm gonna take off the suspension 2day and check out the car more. Ill post up more pix.

Edit: By the way the reason i got it is cause the motor has only 53k miles and $3500 for an Si..!!!??? who wouldnt take it.

Even though i'm not an expert in cars and can be consider a noob here on h-t, but at least i'm willing to learn and do things myself and if anything, i just ask for you guys help right?
