00 Si High Rear Brake Wear?!?

00 Si High Rear Brake Wear?!?
Hi guys,
I have a 00 Si and I have brembo blank rotors and Axxis Ultimate pads. My problem is that both rear pads have about 1.5mm of pad material left, but the fronts have 5mm left! I was wondering if you guys had ideas on what could be causing this? Ive heard that it could be the rear calipers frozen/locked, and in need of replacement, but I wanted your opinions on this.
Edit: Also the car doesnt seem to exhibit any symptoms of sticking, such as reluctance to roll when I let off the brakes, etc....
Thanks a bunch!

Re: 00 Si High Rear Brake Wear?!? (vortexx)
a good way to check for the pads hanging or the caliper is to take the pads out and look at them they should be evenly worn from top to bottom of the pad. There should also be about the same amount of pad left on the inside and the outside. If there is excessive wear on the inside pad look for a caliper problem. If the pad is worn at an angle look for seized slide pins. hope you can understand this!
You will more then likely find the slide pins are siezed. One other thing you said that you changed the rear pads once before did you turn the caliper puck back in or just push it in? pushing it in will damage the ebrake mech and cause all sorts of problems with the rear brakes

Thanks that was helpful. There was excessive wear on both inside pads in the rear, but I spoke to the dealer and they claimed that it was normal. So the uneven wear is indicative of a problem right?

it's not right man it's ike 80% braking in the front - 20% in the rear.. somewhere around that...
so your front should be more worn out then the rear... unless you replaced the front... and didn't do the rear..

aftermarket pads wear out fast and the front is doing alot more work then the rear...but, perhaps you have a heavy foot? or maybe the front lines have air in em? bleed the front & cee if that's the problem?

even if he had a heavy foot... he said that is front have 5mm rears 1.5mm, and he replaced everything at the same time..
so...I doubt there is that much air in the system to cause that type of problem...

Right, that make sense. When i installed the new pads on the rear, I noticed a sound of the pads on the rotors before I even set the car on the ground on the rears, but the fronts didnt have that. I was wondering if this was just because of the fact that the rear pads were new and had alot of material on them. I also remember reading that the rear pads should contact the rotor and that it is normal?!?

Ok, thanks schlit, I will def. check the things you suggested. If there was air in the front lines, would there be any response at all from the front brakes?
