00 Ex Coupe...Where do I start?
First and foremost...I've searched and searched and searched
I just picked up a 2000 EX coupe (D16Y8 Sohc Vtec for those who don't know)
80k on the clock and its bone stock besides suspension which is done.
I've been looking all around for a good mod list to make my Sohc vtec a little more fun and where I won't be getting killed by all my friends and their Si's and Integra Ls's lol...
The only things I've come up with are Intake, Apexi WS, and a DC header. I've been lookin around at the Zex cam but havent made up my mind. Keep in mind, I will be on a budget and I'm just lookin to have more fun that a stock D16 until I have the money/chance to swap...which won't be for a while
I know theres a bunch of sohc vtec gurus out there and this is where I need your help - I'm lookin for a good mod list that I can slowly go down the list and do these mods to the coupe.
Thanks a lot for all your help!

Re: (specv5150)
I'm with specv, boost is good......
If you dont have money for boost then do i/h/e, you know the basics, then get an apexi vafc and a crower stage 2 cam and adjustable cam gear.
#1: Make it tunable, #2: Get it tuned on a dyno, #3: Try to keep up with your friends

Even if you dont have the money for I/H/E/C/VAFC, save it. I would take boost over that setup anyday and you can be halfway boosted for the money you spend on all that. Hell if you the super cheap way, you can be boosted with that much money

Since you already have the 3 main things, get a good cam like you said, lighter flywheel, and a stronger clutch. I seen a dyno here that was doing 141whp with these basic bolt-ons + a few minor things.
Your best bet is to turbo. You'll smoke all your stock b series friends.

Re: 00 Ex Coupe...Where do I start? (Si.hatch.92)
boost is great if done right.... save for a swap and then boost that. imo, consider what goals you're trying to meet, meanwhile upgrade the suspension and tires. find yourself a ls motor, build it up, and then boost the **** out of it

Along with adding power you should try to reduce the weight some. That will allow you to make the most out of the Hp you gain. Really try to reduce unsprung weight, i once heard reducing 1 pound of unsprung weight is like reducing 8 pounds of weight some were else in the car. How accurate that is i am not sure but it kinda makes sense.

Re: 00 Ex Coupe...Where do I start? (Si.hatch.92)
I smoke them every weekend without boost. (Them being non boosted or sprayed)
-D16Z6 with all stock internals and 177,000 miles no smoke
-Nitrous Pro Flow wet kit (do not need this exspensive kit N.O.S. will do)
-Ebay short ram black chrome intake (do not know brand do not care)
-Ebay Megan Racing stainless header (great header)
-Ebay AEM fuel rail
-B&M adjustable fuel regulator and guage
-MSD wires
-Spark plugs 2 heat ranges colder than stock
-Distributor timing retarded 1 degree
-2.25 catback exhaust w/ Megan Racing muffler & silencer
-Run nitrous pressure @ about 1000psi
-35 jet nitrous side 20 jet on the fuel side
B16 what? B18 what? Dual overhead what? Turbo what?
Just kidding about the turbo. I actually love turbo. Turbo is the way to go with nitrous. But with my funds I needed something now and cheaper than turbo. I do have a D16Z6 at the machine shop getting torque plate bored 20 over installing SRP nitrous/turbo 9.0 to 1 w/ chrome moly rings, Scat 4340 H-beam rods, Z6 w all the head work, and Type R manifold. Going to boost and spray then will be looking for much bigger things like Corvettes, Saleens, Cobras, Mustangs (stock ones no problem right now), So on so on.
GOT MILK..........YOUR PICTURE IS TOO FREAGIN SMALL!!! Can't even click on it.

I agree with most here, save your money for something better. Although, nitrous is a good budget option, if you prefer that route.
