00' EK Swap questions...
Hi all,
I'm new to the Honda game (coming from Subaru). I'm going to ask some questions here so forgive me if they've already been answered. I'll explain my situation below.
I picked up a bone stock 2000 EK hatch (automatic). I would like to put ~200+ hp to the wheels. I want to know your opinions as to which is the most RELIABLEmethod.
This will be for a daily driver (year round in NJ).
I have a ~12k budget and no real target date.
What I want to know from you guys; I know there are B18 FI, B20, NA/FI, K20, K24a2...etc options for this to be do-able, but which is most reliable? If I can reliably pull out 240 horses with my budget then great but reliability is more important than that extra 20 or 40 horses.
I would PREFER automatic but if there's no easy option then manual it is. (I'm sick of driving stick in the city)
I want everything rebuilt. Motor, transmission, water pump...etc. I was originally looking at the B20 and found this on ebay which I thought was great" http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-99-01-CR-V-B20Z2-2-0L-DOHC-Rebuilt-Engine-Long-Block-HLBB20Z-/140731429743?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20c43f336f&vxp=mtr
If I could just buy a rebuilt transmission that would be awesome too.
I would like to stay N/A.
How much do ITBs run on these motors (assuming I stay N/A )
ECU. (tune?)
Clutch / flywheel. (pedals as well).
Axles.
5 lug conversion.
I will be doing some light suspension work such as control arms, sway bars, strut bars, springs / struts....etc. (I don't need information on this but including so you understand my budget and how it is affected).
Some minor audio work.
Seats.
Steering Wheel.
Fog lights.
Wheels.
Please keep in mind that all suspension work will be done by me and there will be no labor costs associated with that.
I'll most likely end up doing a majority of the interior work as well.
*Possibly* big brake kit of some sort.
What am I missing?
Thanks in advance!

200-240whp. Automatic. 5 lug. Big brake kit on top of that. Audio. Worries about reliability.
Yeah. That Subaru thing checks out.....
You could do a K24A2 TSX swap with an auto trans from an RSX. Figure about 8K+ in parts at stock horsepower (around 170-180 at the wheels if you buy a 06-08 spec motor). Rebuilt motor and trans for what? No reason for this.
A 5 lug conversion comes with bigger brakes. About $800 + wheels.
Do some research, bud. 240whp to do what with? Big brakes for what reason? Find a reason to mod first. It becomes easier and cheaper and more effective.

Re: 00' EK Swap questions...
Sorry it's the best advice I could give the guy. There is SO MUCH INFO on this swap merely in the FAQs alone on this forum let alone a Google search. I can give two craps about post count, but my post count is high because I actually CONTRIBUTE and help people on this and many other forums because I care. Check out my posts and thread topics I've created and I think they'll speak for themselves.
