00 EK hatch rear brake noise issue
Alright well about a year ago i had done the rear disk conversion to my ek and it went over with no issues but recently i have been hearing like a "scheww schewwww schewww" noise from my rear disks and it almost seems as if they are always locked up. Now its ben minus 40 C* here the past few weeks, would this cause an issue with my break line hardening up and not releasing correctly? i have checked my pads and they are fine but even when the E brake is released they still seem to be firmly clamped agains the rotor. If anyone has an idea of what my problem is thank you in advance.

possible seized caliper? if so, and if its recent, then you may not notice a wear-down in your pads. if it continues, the stuck caliper will grind through the pads and then you'll be hearing a high pitched metal on metal sound of your caliper grinding against your rotor. At that point, your SOL because you need to replace caliper, rotor, etc.
Your brake line shouldn't be freezing. You said it was fine before, but I'm tempted to say that maybe your e-brake cable is too tight and needs to be adjusted.
