hey guys my front hub wheel stud slot is stripped out. recently my stud broke and i didnt know and i was driving on it and it stripped out the inside of the hud as well. i took it dwn to my mechanic at carx and had him cut out the old stud. its my best friends uncle and ive know him just about all my life. hes telling me i need to replace the whole hub, while other people say i can get a stud that will hammer in and stay inplace without the grooves in the hub. can someone help me out? thanks!

eh, my buddy had the splines strip on 2 studs. We didn't replace the hub. He got new ARP studs, and welded them on. IIRC, he did 2 spot welds on each side of the stud


You "could" try just stick a new a one in, but you risk not being able to tighten the lugnut down, OR, worse not being able to remove the lugnut.


Hubs aren't cheap, unles you buy one used.

Thanks for the advice! i dont want to just stick one in because of what u said it not coming out. is their such thing as the ones u hammer in and they dont move?
