00 Civic Sedan, Fuel Gauge/Low Gas Light Not working
So this has been something that has puzzled me for almost a year now.
Some time last year I noticed my 'Low Gas' light stopped coming on. I used to use it as a warning light to know I had about 30-50 miles left on the tank before it was empty.
it wasn't a big deal as my needle still worked just fine and I continued for a few more months until that stopped working as well.
It always says the car is 'full'
I've tried moving the needle down manually, only to see it return to a full position as soon as the car was turned on.
I've also tried using a different cluster from a friends Si to see if it was my gauge that was the issue, and unfortunately, the same thing happened on my friends cluster too.
I've also removed the fuel tank sensor and checked its resistance while moving the float up and down, and it does appear to work within specification.
So what else could be causing it? And how is the gas light/gauge/sensor interconnected?

Re: 00 Civic Sedan, Fuel Gauge/Low Gas Light Not working
Perhaps it some how gets stuck up after I put the floater into the tank. But I already bench tested its resistance out of the car.
I haven't tried manually moving the float while its still wired to the OEM harness however.
