Default •RHD Conversion Info, Pics, Theory, Discussion Thread!•

Okay I know there used to be a write up on this a few years ago but the OP was edited and no one could see it. So I'm going start one up, Because I started my RHD conversion with basically no help or any info so I will make this to help others out. This is my first write up so give me a break and give me time to edit and change it around. Please post more Information or Corrections as I will update the thread to current and good info.

Please stay on topic as this is a information/pics thread.

Tool's

Corded Drill (Very Important)
Spot weld cutter/Drill bit (Very important, I prefer DRILL MASTERS Item #85343)
Flat head screw driver (Very Important, Also could use a air chisel)
Wire drill brush (Important used to take off seam sealer)
Plyers or vice grips (Important to pull metal back in some spots)
Welder (Any sort of welder will work, I prefer a MIG for this)

You don't need to remove the firewall shield (The extra layer of metal behind the firewall)

As for the horn.

When you do the swap you will no longer have an airbag (at least on the 92-95 civic) anymore.
You will notice 2 wires on the JDM harness on the headlight side of harness at the switch.
They will be red with a blue stripe.
If you have moved your headlight relay to the right side of the car it should be attached to the dash support that is attached to the right side of the body. You will notice that the wires are blue with green stripe, RED with BLUE stripe, black and white with a green stripe.

You can take 1 of your red with a blue stripe wires from your column and tap it into the same color wire at your relay and your horn should work. Be sure you have it plugged into the back of the steering wheel.
I just did mine tonite and it works fine with my momo steering wheel.

Then you should see a few spots where you should drill out. Use the pictures for reference only and do not copy exactly what they did, these are from a few different builds I found during my build process. Some are tegs, eg6, ef's. Hope they help. If anything send me a pm or post the pics of your area and ill help you out.

Before with seam sealer.

After ground away.

Post pictures and other information that you think that should be added. I'm sure there is plenty that i'm missing. I also will add more in the afternoon and once I get my firewall out tomorrow or sometime this week Ill make a detailed diagram of which to drill and where to remove seam sealer.

It is informative, but I didn't like how you just copy and pasted other write-ups. Once you do yours, you should only have yours in here.

It's only to help out others, many write ups are used with quotes from others. I will be posting my photos along in this thread and diagrams and the techniques I used during my conversion when I get time. The write up is only to help others.

I bought my last 94 del sol, a real rhd for $1400, i would never spend time converting a car that way, not worth it

Yea it was a shot in the dark... And that's cause your in Canada! Lol it's not so easy to buy/find a true rhd in the states. It is a lot of work, but keeps me out of trouble lol and a good learning experience with fab and welding etc

Do you realize that in Canada, even though we have a rhd here and there, that they are looked down apon. People are always bitching about how dangerous they are to drive on our roads......they are worth much less than the left hand drive versions of the same car
