heres an idea.. jack the car up.. turn it on.. then feel like 1 inch from the exhaust where you think it is leaking.. if it is you should feel some exhaust hitting your hand...?
Or put food coloring into your intake y0.. then the exhaust should be the color of the food coloring!! (j/k)

i've had leaks at bad welds. they didnt make any noise, but u could obviously tell there was a leak as u can see black streams of soot from where the weld had a hole in it

Use something cover the whole in the exhaust and then listen to see if you hear any air coming out any holes in the pipes. Don't cover it up for too long though.
