Civic HX engine swap
Hello all,
I haven't been in the "honda world" in a decade or so, but I'm regaining some interest in building a turbo d series car. I stumbled across a clean civic HX and, as I've been pretty removed and my memory isn't as clear as it was 10 years ago, I figured I'd ask here. I'm aware of the idiosyncrasies of the HX ( lean burn, VtecE, wideband o2 sensor etc) but I wanted to verify. I'm assuming that swapping the car to an obd1 ecu with a conversion harness is going to be the most logical/supported route. I can conceptualize dealing with the engine. It shouldn't be too much of an ordeal to run an obd2 or 1 motor. Just swap the distributor and manifolds around etc. Change plug styles are needed while maintaining correct wire color pinning. Are there any underlying issues, that anyone is aware of, that make the HX difficult to set up for a non vtec-e engine? ( a z6 or y8) I'm assuming, if the ecm isn't looking for vtec-e/lean burn functions, there won't be any issue with it all being disconnected?
Thanks in advance for any information. I didn't find much on the search function.

Re: Civic HX engine swap
swapping out an hx motor isn't any different than a standard dx d15b7. you should be fine. sounds like you know what yoru doing
just wire vtec. but know this. some years though had vtec already wired to the shock tower.
good luck
