[FAQ] Ultimate Swap Quick Ref. for EG/EK
There seems to be a constant flow of "What parts do I need to swap XX engine into XX vehicle" threads.
This thread is an attempt to collect...and organize all of those threads and ideas using everyone's knowledge put together to make a quick reference, and a good starting point so people know the bare essentials to swap alot of the popular motors into a 92-00 civic, and know different options for ways to keep PS/AC and other components when performing swaps.
The original post will be constantly updated as everybody supplies the thread with new information. I'm not claiming to have a vast knowledge of swaps...I'm bored at work and figured this would save alot of people alot of time and help avoid conflicting information...that's why I'm relying on you guys to help with this.
If you have any info on parts list/what needs to be modded/can be retained from original setups for swaps please post on here or PM me...all swap details will be welcome. If it's a unique swap, and you know all the parts necessary feel free to post. Even if it's just additional ideas to current lists, the more knowledge the better!
IF YOU THINK THIS IS A BAD IDEA DON'T POST! No need to harass for something you think is a bad idea. No hating for an attempt to help the masses. If something is wrong on the write-up...politely let me know and it will be changed/modified.
If you read this post please bump so we can keep it on top and people will hopefully keep supplying new info.
Thanks in advance.
[FAQ] Ultimate Swap Quick Ref. for EG/EK
B18B (OBD2 LS) into 96-00 Civic
-Complete Long Block
-B-Series: Driver// Passenger Side Axles
-Axle Half shaft
-Clutch Kit (( Flywheel, Pressure Plate, Clutch Disc ))
-Transmission
-Shift Linkage
-P75 ECU
-OBD2 Integra Engine Harness (Source for necessary plugs)
-99-00 Si T-Bracket + Timing Belt Bracket
-B-Series Mounts (( I.E. Innovative B-D series mounts ))
-Integra shift linkage
-P54 AC Bracket from CRV if you want to retain AC *I believe there's also a del-sol bracket that's usable if anybody can verify*
Keep the stock harness.
'96 - '98 civic you'll simply have to extend the wiring for the O2 sensor and convert from a 3 wire to 2 wire IACV, and IIRC swap plugs for the CKF sensor.
'99 - '00 you'll also have to deal with the distributor plug.
If you're running an OBD2 USDM ECU perform the CKF trick shown here ---> http://technet.ff-squad.com/ckftrick.htm
Using a D16y7 (( obd2a )) engine harness to plug up to a JDM obd2 LS:
The factory's plastic covers and tape prevent some of the connections from reaching their designated location i.e. fuel injector connectors and a couple other unknown plugs...
Take the plastic piece that goes around the injector wires and bolts to the fuel rail off the JDM engine and put it on your Y7, extend wires where needed (Cut JDM harnesses are a great source for correct colored wire of the right gauge) Any time you have to splice anything use solder and shrink tubing, try to make splices away from plugs.

-K series tranny
-k series ecu

Yeah. Main thing here is keeping it neat. Such as chassis codes and engine codes listed. I do know that 92 Civics are prewired for VTEC regardless of trim even if they didn't come with VTEC.
