Default Proper idle learn procedure

Car is a 98 ex sedan y7 swap. I've researched and found a million different answers, but does anyone know the CORRECT ecu reset and idle learn procedure? Also, how far the idle srew should be ran out? Thanks

Default Re: Proper idle learn procedure

Do you have the correct parts on the car? See this thread:
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...e-iac-3334937/
After getting the prerequisites in place-- correct parts, plugged in correctly, no codes are set, cooling system is full, nothing is broken as far as you know--

then consult the FSM.

If you want yet another non-authoritative answer from the Internet, as I remember the process is to pull the BACK UP fuse or disconnect the battery to clear ECU memory. Then start the engine from cold and let it sit and idle for 20 minutes. Turn off the lights, A/C,etc. If idling too fast, turn the screw in. If too slow, turn it out. There is a range where feedback from the IACV will keep the idle at the designed pre-programmed rpm despite turning the screw some. Get the screw set near the middle of that range.

Do not trust the dash tach to show exact rpm, especially at idle speeds.
