Hey JDM, how hard was it to just replace or would it be to replace just the oil pan and gasket? Im going to be doing this soon, and I was just looking at difficulty and length in time. Thanks

will you have to take off the oil pan to get the rear mains bracket out, so yeah it just made more sense to do the oilpan gasket ya kno since you have it off anyways.. an from start to finish it'd probably take about a full day assuming your not prepared and have to take numerous trips to autozone like me lol...

yeah honda stocks it, and also ur local autoparts store will probably have it in a complete gasket set... thats how i bought it, the actual bracket that u take off doesnt have a stock gasket "or at least mine didnt" but the set u buy comes with one so i added one just cuz i had a brand new one.... an thanks for comment

I have to change my rear main seal. Your write-up is perfect. I am going to tackle this project next weekend. Thank you for creating this DIY.

wow dude your car really did make you put in some work! question: what kind of oil are you using? i have done my oil pan gasket twice now and its still seeping. i tightened the bolts/nuts the same way you did.

p.s. i use mobil 1 5w30, i switched from castrol 10w30

That post is from 7 years ago so, you may not get a reply. 30 weight oil is 30 weight oil and it makes no difference to your gasket. 5w and 10w (W= winter) makes no difference to your gasket.
