Default bad alarm remote?

I try to disengage my car alarm (Clifford G5 w/ Black Jack) and nothing happens, I also tried pressing every button possible and still nothing. Are these the symptoms of a bad remote?

I wouldn't write off the remote just yet. Happened to me this summer, but it turned that I had unplugged my alarm and after a few days the backup battery died and I had the same symptoms. I would start by checking out your 12V source, make sure you got power.
