Yup.One bulb to pull and paint. As for the sizing of the EK bulbs, Im not sure, but the climate control and the cluster use the same size bulbs (except for the one big one). Not sure what size they are, because I just reused them though.

Go pull one out and take it to the store. Hell, call autozone and ask them, they can tell you. Don't expect us to do everything for you.

Hahah yeah I figured as much. I bet they're the same size, but don't want to tell you for sure; have you buy them and them not fit. I know FOR A FACT THOUGH that the defroster, hazzard, most of the guage bulbs and the 2 climate control bulbs are all identical. I had 1 climate control bulb burn out and I replaced it with a bulb from my old cluster.

So whats better.

Getting the Amber bulbs
-or-
Painting them??

Theres a paint called like tamiya. think that wouldve done the trick for ya! it has a lot of darksports specially on the fuel/temp gauges

what would have been better is if you had painted the clear ring around the clusters black, so the light dosent shine ON the gauge face. i painted mine black so it is TOTALLY back lit. here is a pic:

the way i made mine ambr is to goto autozone and get the ORANGE bulbs. then, get a red sharpie perminant marker and color them red a couple coats

Looks good, but what's really the point of having amber/red lights? Does it offer any viewing advantages over the stock white bulbs? Not hating, I was thinking about doing this mod until I asked myself WHY

I don't really care about the outer rings...I was trying to replace as little as possible, so I could return it to stock if needed. The outer rings if anything provide more light for easier viewing of the gauges. I tried using a sharpie on the stock bulbs, but it didn't stick at all!

Because it looks better and is easier on the eyes (at least IMO) than the stock plain white dashboard

DONE!

colored the oem bulbs with a red marker and i also colored the rear of the defrost sign and it lights up amber

took 5 minutes at most

be careful with the circuit board, and make sure it still works when you reinstall

the circuit board likes like the s2000 push button circuit board <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by DxHatchback &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i used amber bulbs and colored them red
