@@@ Carbon Fiber Weight Specs????? @@@
This might not be in the right forum but what the h@LL. Iam looking to find actual weight specs to CF Hoods and Hatch for a 99-00 civic Hatchback. What company makes the lightest products(i.e. Vis, Seibon,ne others???). Im in the market for a CF hood and hatch and wanna find the lightest possible products. And no i don't wanna buy a $1000+ cf hood or hatch. If anyone could help, please do. Thanks to all in advance.

Carbon fiber is stupid and pointless unless your replacing almost everything with it, because just a hood, the stock one weighting probably what, 30-50lbs? Yeah, a carbon fiber hood is probably 10-15lbs. So you are saving anywhere between 20-40 lbs, meaning that is just about 0.03s off your quarter mile time.

^^^^^ Why do you even bother posting if you are going to be giving an opinion that nobody cares about?
To tell you the truth it is going to be really difficult to find out who makes the lightest carbon fiber hoods and hatches since there is so many companies out there.Your best bet is to call or email the companies yourself and find out from them what the specs are.

actually he has a point... and its up to the maker of the thread to take his opinion or not..
example.. a 30 lbs CF hood = $250 a 25 lbs Cf hood = $350.. $100 for 5 lbs? then again you dont want to spend alot of money ???
i think it would be pointless to call around and ask for specs.. most of the companies wont even know the weight.. they would give an estimate of it..
its a honda not a F1 car.. 5-10lbs less wont make much difference..

You are an idiot. That's like saying putting on an exhaust is pointless because it only frees up a couple of hp.
Every pound adds up, just like adding a turbo infront of that exhaust frees up more than just a couple over stock.

forget carbon fiber if you are trying to save weight. Just get fiberglass pieces there are hoods that weigh 8 #'s and countless body panels you can get that will save way more weight than c/f could ever do. Ohh and its generally cheaper to make **** outta f/g than it is out of c/f

I'm not talking ****, I stating facts. And why don't you spend the money from the carbon fiber parts and buy some actual performance mods, because carbon fiber is a waste of money unless you have the money to replace everything in your car with it.

I WOULD spend that money if it was up to me on performance mods. BUT i can't seeing as i have NO HOOD OR HATCH along wit other body parts since i crashed my car. so im trying to replace what i can with lighter weight reducing parts first and get my car on the streets again...then ill come back to my performance mods.
