hey i have a 1993 del sol with an ls motor swap in it, after market exaust and a few other things. But im getting litteraly like 8 miles a gallon. Its crazy. i just replaced my 02 censor and its not really helping. My exaust is backfiring horribly to. Any ideas? Anything helps! Thanks

Check all your basic tune-up parts aka plugs, plug wires, filters, etc. Then buy new if needed, see if that helps at all.

BTW Did you do the swap?? And are you running the right ECU???

sounds to me like you have the wrong ecu or it just needs to be tuned correctly... running super rich. if it is that rich you should be fouling plugs out and seeing ALOT of black smoke

yeha im running the right ecu, and if i wasnt i am now. i put a stalk LS ecu in last night. and my sparkplugs are pretty black and so was my o2 censor. So maybe if i replace the spark plugs n wires and give it an oil change it will do better? And No i didnt do the swap myself i bought it like that. And i just bought it less than a week ago

I was about to start a thread with the same problem. (search button is my friend). Not trying to thread jack the op but I have a 96 EX stock engine, just i/h/e and i'm getting about 20 mpg. That's not alot for a stock single cam. I have no fuel mods, I changed spark plugs, wires are new, o2 sensor was replaced, but it feels and smells like it's running rich. No smoke tho. It doesn't respond well, I know is a SOHC but still...

Your ignition timing is probably off. Check with a timing gun and set to spec.
