Default **JDM SWAP**

i recently installed a b16a4 jdm motor into my 2000 civic coupe ex i am having problems with the wire harness and computer. im curently using my ex harness with an si computer car seems to be working fine but dies at 6500rpm and i dont hear the vtec kicking in. i keep being told that jdm motors have less sensors then american motors do. has anybody ever done a swap like this?? is there any website that might have info that could help me? also check engine light is on and i wanna get rid of it without taken out the bulb any help would be great thanx.

Check this faq thread for directions on how to see what code the ecu is throwing, by checking that engine light.

b16a4? I dont believe JDM motors have a 5 digit EIN. Are you sure its not EDM ( I don't know of a USDM b16a4).

What ecu? Im guessing a p2t out of a 99-00 civic si? It stalls at 6500rpm or just bogs?

Also go to autozone and have them pull up the code. That will help you out tremendously.

I'm looking at the same situation right now. I've heard you can splice some wires (C1 into C4 and C11 into C14) for the CKF sensor or buy an oil pump, sensor (if you dont have one) and I also have to get a lower timing belt cover.

edit: I need to know where to buy a CKF sensor. Unless my d16y8 had one on it? hm..

use a jumper and use a obd-1 chipped p28 or gsr ecu. that will eliminate the crank sensor and the motor will run better obd1
