**HELP!! My engine still runs even when the ignition is turned of**
Okay, this is something that I have not encountered before. I recently drop a d16 SOHC Vtec in my hatch. I am able to turn on the car just fine. It idles great without bogging, accelerate like normal and it does not throw a CEL. But when I turn the ignition off everything would turn off including my radio but my engine would continue to run and the oil and battery indicator light on my dash remains on. I recently took it to the shop to get the timing and valve adjusted and now it started doing this. What could be the problem???? Thanks in advance

alright...did you happen to remove your dash or anything near it that caused you to unplug any wires/connectors? There are two connectors near the iginition that are almost idenitical. It is very easy to confuse one for the other and plug it into the iginition side (this is what is causing your car to keep on running). Many honda guys have had this problem when putting in the jdm climate control..they unplug these connectors then mix them up. This has been covered before with pics explaining how to fix it just do a search. Let me know if that makes sense.

did the previous owner ever install a turbo timer? does it have a turbo timer that you dont know about? could have mixed wires up when you removed the dash

The only way to turn off the engine is to stall on purpose, then unplug my battery connectors to prevent it from using up its juice

I never touched my ignition. It was a simple swap, me and my friend took out my ls/vtec set up and drop the d16zc. But I will check this out anyway, I will search for the thread.

No turbo was ever installed. Could this be anything to do with my alarm, if I recalled my alarm has a kill switch.

turbo timers could be installed on N/A cars as well, does your alarm have a kill switch? remote start? or anything igniton related?

it does have a kill switch built into the alarm, do you think it's because of that. The thing is I don't recall fooling with it.

I read this thread and it seems that the guy wired his clock to the hazard thus creating constant flow of power. In my case, I have nothing connected to my hazard. It's funny that it didn't start doing this until I got my timing adjusted. Someone told me that it is possible if the timing is too advanced it may create a backfeed of power to the ignition, is that true??
