**Anybody got "Locktronics" rigged on their car?**
I'm not sure if this device comes stock on some Honda's, but I've seen quite a few that are equipped with it.
How does this device work? Is it simular to a kill switch? I know the car can't start without the little chip in place. I'm just curious if anybody ever had their car stolen with their chip out before.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

are you talking about the little thing that you slide the key chip into? If so....they suck ***....a thief can bypass it by either connecting the 2 wires that attach to it together or by shoving aluminum foil into the key slot. Don't waste your time or money. just my $.02.

Damn! Your kidding me right? Foil? I tought that you had to have the correct chip signature to be able to start the car.
Anybody else agree with skunksol?

Did you actually try stuffing aluminum foil in the slot, or cut the wires in the back and reattach them together? How are you so sure that this device is faulty?

Trust me, it is that easy to get around. Yes, it is an extra step and if you have it then use it but don't count on it. It will just make the car thieves laugh as they drive your car away.
Its impossible to keep your car from getting stolen but you can find out where it went after it was stolen and go on a little Mini-14 rampage A-team style.....

Insalled by who? I know a while back it cost me $150 to get my Avantguard 4 installed by a very very well know stereo chain. I don't think it would cost $300-$400 to have the GPS installed????

Re: (AlphaQup)
I had one of those on my GSR, came on it when I baught it, didn't really seem to help at all, seen as how my car was stolen. Unless it came on your car, i wouldn't waste your money on it.
