*** radiator lines conntected to the AUTO tranny?
well i was un hooking my bro radiator yester day. I un hooked the large top and bottom radiator hose. there were 2 smaller line that was hooked up to also
I unpluged it and ATF was pouring out.... maybe about 3/4 of a regular cup.
*I just wanted to know why a AUTO tranny has collant lines hooked up to the radiator.......//// if is hooked up WHY is it that when i drain the coolant its not showing any ATF Flyuids even though is hooked up to the radiator?
possibly to have a sperated wall or barrier where the ATF is cooling off the lower temps of the radiator?

That is a tranny cooler..There is a coil running thought the bottom of your radiator to from one of those small hoses and coming out the other one back into the tranny....Automatics have to have this so dont bypass it or anything like that. And when you drain the raditor not ATF will come out because it does not mix..Separt coil in the bottom...Everthing is normal no worries..

So yeah mostly all automatics have this it’s like an extra radiator cooler built in ur reg. Manufacturer one.. just be careful when removing the tranny cooling lines. U might wanna plug them ASAP so u don’t lose a lot of fluid. Make sure u remember what side goes to what side. As one side feeds and one side is the return line… Just a FYI!! GOOD LUCK!!!
