*** Offical EG rear wiper thread...?
Ok..theres one existing thread of anything close to tech with the rear wiper.
I'm wanting to replace my rear wiper because it's SHOT.
Now do you replace the whole damn arm or just the blade?
I have the blade down stairs and i also took the whole arm off of the hatch and i can not figure one damn way on how to get this blade off.
Everyone post your knowledge PLEASE.

Re: *** Offical EG rear wiper thread...? (Usdmdc2)
get i wiper insert from the dealer, its easy to replace...
-pull the rubber out from the end and pull it down all the way
-take the 2 metal sheet things and stick them into the sides of the insert (2nd line from the back of the insert)
-insert the other end throught the little arms of the blade slowly (first line drom back) and pull it tightly on from the other end

You don't HAVE to go to the dealer, but it's probably the easiest thing to do. The rubber is narrower than the fronts. I refused to go to the dealer and got one at a local shop. I had to cut it shorter and put the little prong thing on the opposite end. It's a little bit of a pita, but it works and you can't tell the difference.

does everything have to be "offical" these days.
The whole wiper assembly weight is what he wants to know (i think).
I cant imagine it being over 5 pounds. I wouldnt bother loosing a
funcional part for that small amount of wieght, unless your some
drag queen.

I just named it that so that all of the info that everyone knew could be posted here.

Same here, in the UK the wiper rubber is $15+ from the dealers, but i got 2 blades for $5 from a local place. Takes like 5 mins longer to fit, and doesnt work 100% (edges dont clean as well) but for the money its fine. Especially as i use it a lot, so change blades at least every 6 months, lots of miles and lots of rain So wish i lived in CA you lucky *****

Re: (HUBB)
you cant really remove the whole wiper set up unless you buy the plug aka block off... when u remove the rear motor ( about 2 lbs) you will have an open hole from where it goes thru the glass, and that leaves only one bolt holding on the latch that closes the window. And the one bolt doesnt really hold well and the latch can slide up and down and not shut correctly. I just swapped my motor cause the bolt that held the wiper arm was rusted and snapped when i tryed to take the 10mm off. All in all i dont think its worth taking it out. . if anything just take the wiper arm off and have the lil bolt stickin out.
