$900 for an upgrade
well i posted earlier on how im looking at an eg civic ex, and im almost positive im gunna buy it. and after i buy it i will have about $900 to put into it and i was wondering what you guys would suggest, just throw some ideas at me with some brands and relitive prices. im looking for a bit more horses so anything in that price range that can give me that would be great.
upgrades it has already:
Skunk 2 exhaust
DC Headers
High Flow Cat
AEM Short Ram Intake
I was thinking maybe get an intake manifold, camshafts and cam gears. that might be more than 900 so what would u guys suggest i do?

sell that stuff and try to save up alittle more for a DIY turbo for the sohc???
or see if you can stuff some JDM zc pistons with ls rods and try to get some super high compression in there.

yeah, i'm with that guy. sell that stuff and add it to the 900 bucks you had saved and that should be enough for a home-made turbo.
EDIT: we posted at the same time, forget what i said then. good luck getting much power out of it like that.

stage 2 camshafts $175
dual valve springs $130
titanium retainers $150
aem cam gear $100
that puts you at around $735
with the rest, get your ecu chipped with crome (free) and tune it </TD></TR></TABLE>
sounds like a deal you should jump on it

anything wrong with the car? suspension mods? tires/rims? i would maintence the car before i do any mods...buying a used car which is close to 10years old is bound to have something going wrong.

Or you can buy a nice security system for your soon-to-be money pit.

Re: (94hondacivicvtec)
go for the almighty fuel pressure regulator and high flowing fuel rail, maybe a bigger throttle body definately go for something that says stage 2 on it.
or like the other guys said. maintanance first, or security or dont listen to any of the tips we're giving you.
seriously though if you really dont feel comfortable taking your engine apart just sit on the money and keep reading about what other are doing with their engines or cars in general that way you dont have to have people telling you what to do, youll decide on your own
save that money!!!!

why waste money on a FPR, and fuel rail? And something that says stage 2? Stages mean nothing between companies. One companies Stage 1 might outperform another's stage 2. If you really dont want to turbo, and you dont feel like taking your engine apart, then I would get an Intake Manifold, New Throttle Body, and put the rest into suspension

Re: (Nongan)
i though about doing that so i would have a complete aftermarket intake and exhaust, but i wasnt sure how difficult a throttlebody would be, and what brand would u guys recommend. i think thats what i will do for now, and either save the money for a paint job or something
over the summer i will have time and money for some more serius upgrades
