$500 dollar budget for civic si mod
alright folks I'm really trying to make a decision here. I want to spend about 500 dollars in mods or a mod. I am thinking cams or nitrous. Check out the sig for what im runnin right now. My car will make 2 1500 mile trips a year so take that in account. What are people thinking, I want to keep my budget pretty tight to that. Also take in account installation costs... Also if I install one thing, will I have to install another...like valve springs or fuel management...
ITR or CTR cams? just intake cam?
zex nitrous kit...
manifold...
Let me know your opinions..

You're at the proverbial fork in the road. I'm not a big nitrous fan so i'd i'm going to say CTR/ITR cams. The manifold won't do you much good without higher lift cams also. HTH.

Why not lower your car? Suspension work? Or even brake upgrades? Go as fast as you want, but if can't handle the turn ahead or stop in time, your screwed.

Suspension work? For what? Intake, header, and exhaust? Ohhh, the power and speed of it all. Over rated. Get the intake manifold - works wonders. Not sure if you can afford the cams + labor if $500 is your budget.

probably can't do nitrous w/ labor also.
I vote suspension.. the stock suspension is already mushy for the stock power the Si puts out.

how about a new clutch and light flywheel. I paid $510 for an Exedy clutch and a CM 7lb flywheel. Of course, I did the install myself so I didn't have to pay for that.

Re: $500 dollar budget for civic si mod (madtownhonda)
how did the flywheel help?
$350.00 for 2001 ITR cams(14kmiles), how does that sound or
$300 for CTR cams(20kmiles)
i could get em installed for around $100.

Zex was my best bang for the buck (except the stipped interior=free) Make sure you always check your plugs when running the giggle juice
